YEAR END MESSAGE
From the Administration team, teachers and staff here at Botwood Collegiate, we would like to say it has been a pleasure to work with you and your children for this past school year. This was a very different year for all of us as the concept of ‘learning’ changed. However, over the past 10 months there are many reasons to celebrate all the successes experienced at BBC. We would also like to thank all of our countless volunteers and community support throughout the year.
As we look forward to the 2020-21 school year, there remains a great deal of uncertainty of what the school year will look like. One thing that is certain, is that our staff will continue to provide a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment for your children.
We would like to also wish the Grade 12 students the very best of luck as they leave BBC with lots of memories. Remember to be Warriors at all times as you embark on the next journey in your life.
A welcome to the grade 6 students from Memorial Academy, who will become a part of the Warrior family in September.
At his time, we would like to take the opportunity to say goodbye, good luck and thank you to the following teachers for their dedication to our WARRIOR family. Ms. McCarthy, Ms. Langdon, Mr. Williams (retired in March), Ms. Pretty, Ms. Harnum, Mr. Bartlett, Ms. Howlett, Ms. Hayter, Mr. Lamkin, Mr. Bennett and Mr. Hartery. You will be missed.
We would like to extend a big welcome to our WARRIOR family to Ms. A. Gillingham (Music), Ms. K. Pardy (Guidance) and Ms. N. Hynes (IRT) and a welcome back to Mr. Foster (returning from leave) Mr. A. Little and Mr. J. Noseworthy.
We look forward to the 2020-21 school year and wish you all a safe and healthy summer.

On the right side of the web-page is a slogan that we have adopted to make students think about what they post to social media. Posters with this slogan have been posted around the school and the community. Announcements are also being made daily to ensure students are aware and are responsible for leaving their "Footprint" on any form of social media and the negative impact and possible legal implications it can have.

Any student from grade 7 - 12 can stay from 3 - 4 on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the school year. This is a great opportunity to catch up on work and/or get some help in a subject area. Students can receive assistance with revision of their class work, homework or with their upcoming assessment tasks.
Some benefits of tutoring include:
Students may not always feel comfortable asking questions in front of his or her peers while in the classroom. Tutoring provides an environment free of distractions, with fewer students and disruptions around so your child is better able to focus on learning.
Self-esteem and confidence will increase through tutoring, by providing the resources and skills he or she needs to excel in school.
Tutoring programs can help your child develop study and learning skills that will help set up your child for success for his or her entire life.
